Trapped in jail, Hal Jordan finds that a powerful alien is looking for him…and as Green Lantern he discovers the secret of the power battery—too late.

Hal Jordan, incarcerated in the local police station is ambushed by a giant. He recovered his power ring, but was unable to use it in his own defense and would probably have been killed if the attacker hadn't mysteriously given up and fled.

Hal decides to visit his friend Andy in the hospital again, only to discover that the entire hospital has been destroyed with no survivors. Realizing it must have been the same assailant, he rushes to the only other place he's been recently - Ferris Aircraft - which he finds similarly demolished.

Returning to the site of the spaceship crash where he received the ring, he learns the origin of the crash - and has to face off against the living arsenal he's come to know as 'Legion'.
